Neylon Lasers Ltd
The ULT JUMBO MED Filter Trolley.
For safe smoke evacuation in medical procedures.

Surgical Laser Plume is Dangerous and must be regarded as a Health and Safety Issue.

Research has proved that smoke plume produced from laser and electrocautery surgical techniques can contain potentially hazardous biological and chemical particles:

Biological
Viruses, Bacteria spores, Dead and live cellular material, Cancer cells, Carbonized tissue, Aerosolized blood fragments, etc.

Chemical
Mutagens, Carcinogens, Allergens, Irritants to respiratory tract, Toxic Gases - Benzene, Toluene, Formaldehyde, Cyanide, etc.

  • Particles range from 200+ micron to 0.01 micron.
  • Most particles are at 0.3 micron and this size fits exactly into the alveoli of the lung

If you can Smell it – You are inhaling it!

Short-term health symptoms from exposure to surgical plume may include upper respiratory tract irritation, nausea, vomiting and fatigue.

Long-term affects of exposure to laser plume are yet to be realised. Extensive research shows the viability of HIV and HPV viruses as well as cancer cells in the laser plume. For example, there is the potential to generate infectious viral fragments, particularly following the treatment of genital warts.

ACORN S23 Standard 1 Nurses shall utilise appropriate procedures for removal of airborne contaminants associated with the presence of Laser Plume

Criteria – Use evacuator with ULPA filter and efficiency rating of not less than 99.99%

What’s in the odour during Laser Hair Removal?
Keratin, Sulphur Dioxide, Hydrogen Sulphide, Cysteine, Melanin, Tyrosine, Dopa (Dopamine) Chemicals and Dyes, Heavy Metals, Drugs

When 1 gram of skin tissue is vaporised with a laser or electrosurgical device, the mutagenicities of the resultant smoke and aerosol condensates are the equivalent of that generated by 6 cigarettes. (1g of tissue generates about 40mg of smoke)

The ULT Jumbo MED Filter trolley meets the demands required to safely remove laser plume at source. The adjustable exhaust arm can be precisely positioned quickly and easily for hands-free operation
