Astor - Red Lasers

Features

Accuracy and Stability:
The LAP Astor Series of Patient Alignment Lasers set new standards in line quality, stability, reliability and ease of installation.

Solid State Diode Lasers, coupled with superior optical designs, produce fine bright lines of laser light that are visible in normal ambient lighting conditions. The optical systems are focussed to prduce extremely stable and finely collimated lines of less than 1mm width, with sufficient depth of focal range for clinical applications.

Integrated tilting brackets allow the lasers to be swivelled ±45°, enabling sagittal lasers to be angled down to optimise line visibility at isocentre. Coronal lasers can be easily orientated towards the isocentre, even when the patient couch is positioned diagonally across the room.

Precise mechanical, six axis adjustment* elements permit the laser lines to point to the isocentre with an accuracy of less than than 0.5mm. All LAP lasers are guaranteed to have no measurable drift. Once the lasers are installed and setup there will be no need for future readjustments.

*Six axis adjustment - focus, rotation, side movement in two axes and tilt in two axes.

Astor - Green Lasers

LAP Astor Green lasers are fitted with 532nm, class 2, diode pumped solid state laser sources. Each laser has a thermostatically controlled active cooling system to prolong the laser life. As with the Astor Red Laser, all adjustments are made with mechanical elements and an integrated tilting bracket allows the laser to swivel ±45°.

Apollo Laser

Features / Technical Specifications

LAP Apollo Laser for Patient Alignment

Accuracy and Stability:
LAP Apollo Lasers continue the standards of quality associated with the LAP Astor Series of patient alignment lasers. Remote controlled adjustment and positioning of the laser lines makes installation of these lasers faster and easier.

Both red and green Apollo Lasers are available. The green lasers use the same laser source and active cooling system as green Astor lasers. An integrated tilting bracket allows the laser to swivel ±45°. The brackets can be attached directly to the wall or ceiling. This feature is essential for sagittal lasers and for the installation of coronal lasers for equipment positioned diagonally in a room (e.g. CT's and simulators).

PatPos Invent
Laser Guided CT Biopsy

The PatPos Invent is used to give the precise angle of the needle when carrying out CT supported biopsies. The system consists of a laser with a crosshair optic, mounted on a tilting mechanism that glides along a linear rail. The rail is fixed above the gantry opening and parallel to the CT scan plane. The laser can be moved to any lateral position along the linear rail and a scale allows the laser to be rotated to a predetermined angle.

In zero position the laser is placed on the centre axis of the patient couch and projects a 90° cross of laser light vertically down so that one line of the cross marks the sagitall line and the other forms a transverse line. Once the entry spot and needle angle have been determined from the CT image, the laser cross is adjusted laterally to mark the entry spot on the patient's skin. The laser is tilted to the correct angle and the laser is moved laterally again until the cross once more marks the entry point.

The needle tip is placed on the entry spot and the needle is tilted until the laser cross is projected onto the top of the needle - that is the correct angle.
